A Must for Michael Pare Fans
Entertaining. The use of Virtual Reality in the plot is clever. DreamLife, the game in the plot, reminded me of live-action role playing games. The movie dates from the 1990's, but the way in which people get caught up in--really, addicted to--DreamLife could serve as a parable for the way some people become addicted to social media. I have one criticism of the plot: Characters who are set up to be the villains at the beginning of the movie turn out to be not so much at the end. As always, Michael Pare makes a great tough-guy hero.

Tyndale's New Testament ed. David Daniell

Most of what we in the English-speaking world know as the New Testament can be traced to William Tyndale's translation. This edition is not an antiquarian reprodcution of the 16th-century originial. Instead, it's an immensely readable book, with only the spelling and punctuation standardized to modern usage. David Daniell's introduction alone is worth the price of admission. He answers a question that I considered probably unanswerable: Why does the King James Version of I Corinthians use "charity" instead of "love," as in earlier English versions, including Tyndale's. Get the book to find the answer. ...
