Summary of a favorite novel.
I had begun rereading T.H. White’s classic “The Once and Future King” after rewatching both the play and movie “Camelot.” I also purchased the audible book. I wanted to quickly read the Cliff’s Notes summary to review the major plot points, themes, etc. The Cliff Note’s does a good job of summarizing the Sword in the Stone section of the novel but does not go into much detail on the last three sections (e.g. The Ill-made Knight, The Queen of Air and Darkness, etc.) regarding the adult King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table, and the love triangle between Arthur, Queen Guinevere, and Sir Lancelot. As always, Cliff’s Notes are no substitute for reading the novel and in this case, Cliff stopped short by concentrating on primarily on Wart’s boyhood and Merlin’s tutelage. Nonetheless, the will continue to reread this marvelous, enchanting, and rewarding novel. Well worth multiple reads.
