Reliable mid-1950s technology
The 2046W (AKA "streamlined") tender served credibly behind several notable Lionel steamers, including the Turbine, mid-sized Hudsons, and Berks, in numerous Lionel sets. My example arrived in good shape, well-packed, and whistling. I took the liberty of opening it up, servicing the motor, lubing all rotating bearings and returning it to the track. It is happiest serving behind a 671, 681, 2020, but also looks good behind a 736 or 665.

These old contactors worked perfectly, arrived on time, in good shape. Good eBay seller!
The Lionel 153 contactor track is an example of an amazingly innovative electrical switch that switches electrical contacts when a train passes over it. Age does not seem to affect the performance of these reliable action accessories when lubed with a little bit of contact cleaner.

Terrific model that's a bona fide N scale diesel classic
Con-Cor's original model of Alco's classic PA-1 passenger diesel represented a major advance in N-scale engineering. Con-Cor's model looked great, was a terrific puller, and also an able runner capable of realistically crawling along at just a couple of scale miles per hour. Con-Cor revised the classic PA over the years and changed manufacturing locales ( this particular model is from 1994). While there may be minute differences between the various versions in terms of run quality, fit and finish, and noise level, these are all uniformly great models and runners that every N railroad empire should employ in a range of applications, both passenger and freight.
