Quirky and quality and never had a chance

I watched three of the originally airing four episodes and was mighty impressed, but had one heck of a time finding it as it ping-ponged around on the Fox network. It finally got cancelled, which is a shame because the 13 total episodes on this collection are great writing (for the most part) and wonder-fally, er, wonderfully inventive plotlines. Above all, you learn to care for and about Jaye, the lead who hears inanimate figures of animals talking to her, telling her what to do. If you're a fan of Pushing Daisies (and everyone ought to be), you'll love Wonderfalls!

A favorite
2 personnes sur 2 ont jugé cet avis utile. I had a copy of Concert for George that I laoned out, and when the urge to see it again hit me, I eBay'd me a new copy. This tribute by his friends and fellow musicians is an all-star (British mainly) festival celebrating the work and the likes of Beatle George Harrison. From the outrageousness of Monty Python to the Indian tribute composed by Master Ravi Shankar (with acoustic guitar solo by Eric Clapton!) to the everyone and the kitchen sink finale of "Wah-Wah" this concert delivers over and over again. And, most touchingly, the rendition of "I'll See You in My Dreams" by Joe Brown is magical and touching in so many ways. If I loan this copy out, chances are I'll find me another to keep.
By the way, this is a two-disk set; the first is the concert entirely as it ran, while the second is a made-for-cinemas recut with interspersed interviews with Sir Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, and Python-temp Tom Hanks (what????)

One of my fave candies
Every year I try to stock up on conversation hearts - of the two most common brands, I prefer Brach's version - they tend to be tasty and softer than the other brands. I prefer these over the Sweethearts although I'd have either. Remind me to stock up next year, I intend to be eating these well into springtime.
