It's A Gift!
4 personnes sur 4 ont jugé cet avis utile. If you are an afficiendao of W.C. Fields or simply ever wondered where the expression, "Ah, yes, my little chickadee" came from, get this collection! W.C. Fields was truly America's greatest comic. Today's unfunny, profane, and shallow "humorists" & "comdeians" cannot hold a candle to the wit and delivery of this fellow. America and the world, for that matter, need massive doses of this type of real humor and talent. Today, we are subjected to hours of shock humor and talentless entertainers being sold to us as "great". W.C. Fields was considered "The Great One" by many - and deservedly so. Watch IT'S A GIFT, then watch THE BANK DICK and you will see what I mean. Hen-pecked and misunderstood, Fields is always trying to get some peace and quiet, and to sneak away for a little nip of Sasparilla. Foiled by his wife, kids and dogs, seldom does he ever get to experience serenity. I recommend this collection highly to anyone that wants to excape today's frightening and mind-numbing world. Enjoy and be ready to laugh!

Finally, Fields in mint condition!
2 personnes sur 2 ont jugé cet avis utile. I've waited for decades for Univeral or Paramount to re-release Fields' movies and had hoped they would remaster them in the process. Well, my dreams have been answered! These movies are some of the best comedy ever to come out of Hollywood and in today's world of cheap, off-color, shallow humor, W.C. Fields stands heads and shoulders above any and all comers. Ever since I was a kid in the 60's & 70's, my dad pounded into my brain that Fields was the greatest comedic actor of all time - and he was right! We used to get up at 2:00 a.m. to watch his films on late night Cleveland television back in the day. Now I can pop in an excellent quality DVD any time I want. They are all great in their own right and I think the quality of the restoration of these films is nothing short of remarkable. Buy these for yourself and buy them for your kids to show them that "real" humor doesn't need to demean, be profane, or have shock value to be hugely funny. Enjoy!
