Misleading
The reviews are misleading you on certain things . I have built over 350 of the 980 ssb they are a good radio with good performance after they are setup properly,.the reality of the cb radio world is they all come from the factory just ball parked on the alignment and quality control this is every new radio, so this is why you buy them from a qualified technician not directly off of e bay. The swr issue in question has been resolved in all the 2016 late and 2017 models and the beep can be turned off on the front panel now. Do not be afraid to buy a 980, they are a great starter radio for the everyday user. It is also up to the user to be educated by the technician on the proper antenna and coax to buy and how to wire it to the vehicle properly.
