Pachmayr Rubber Pistol Grip for Dan Wesson Large Frame Revolver 44 Mag
The Pachmayr molded rubber pistol grip perfectly fits the Dan Wesson 44 Mag pistol and uses the original DW Allen head screw. This firm-density grip material feels good in the hand and helps reduce felt recoil - which makes shooting more pleasurable than using the stock wooden grips.This grip is similar in shape but very slightly smaller than the original wood grip but it has a very nice cross-hatch texture in the hard rubber that makes this grip easy to hold firmly with all four fingers. Shooters with medium or large hands should enjoy this grip shape and feel. I also have a Hogue 58000 medium-soft rubber grip that I use on this pistol - the Hogue "finger" grip is shaped completely differently than the factory grip (for better or worse) but the rubber material that Hogue uses feels softer and more luxurious than the rock hard-rubber material used in Pachmayr grips. However, the softer Hogue grip will catch on some material, like flannel, while the hard-rubber Pachmayr does not catch on fabrics. But nobody is "fast-drawing" this large and heavy pistol - except maybe a Dirty Harry wannabe. A perfect rubber grip for actual target or silhouette shooting IMO would have the shape of the original wooden handle but made from the same wonderful feeling, recoil reducing rubber material that Hogue uses.

Hogue 58000 Rubber Grip for Dan Wesson Large Frame 44 Mag Pistol
The Hogue 58000 molded rubber pistol grip perfectly fits the Dan Wesson 44 Mag pistol. This grip comes with its own slotted-head screw as the Hogue grip design, unfortunately, cannot use the original DW Allen head screw. This medium-density grip material feels great in the hand and really reduces felt recoil - which makes shooting much more pleasurable than using the stock wooden grips.This grips narrows or tapers a bit at the bottom end making the grip diameter smaller at the end - this feature makes this grip somewhat difficult to hold tightly at the very end if you have normal size hands. Shooters with large hands may not like this grip shape. I also have a Pachmayr hard rubber grip that I use on this pistol - the Pachmayr grip is shaped more like the factory wooden grip - except the hard rubber absorbs recoil better than wood. A perfect rubber grip IMO would have the shape of the original wooden handle but made from the same wonderful rubber material that Hogue uses.
