CDN Audio Visual Refrigerator Freezer Alarm Thermometer Temperature Good Within Limits

This item is a decent buy, but has its flaws. The wire which must pass through the door gasket can allow air to infiltrate and allows for a bit of melting, frost and ice to occur on your freezer. I own four of these and the two being used on older models with older (and stiffer gaskets) have this problem. They did not have the problems before the wire was there. You will need to devise a better way to seal around this. I have not attacked this problem yet but I am resisting changing the door gaskets and will try to apply some sort of sealer or caulk to the wire. Another way to avoid this problem would be to use the thermometer intermittently instead of constantly although this might only serve to defeat you purpose. Also the alarm is not loud, so I would not count on hearing it. This item would also be good to monitor unheated spaces without requiring you to open a door to get a temperature reading inside of the space.

Power Cord as good as the original.

I replaced the power cord on my Skil worm-drive power saw after 25 years of use. This one looks like it might last another 25 years, although I might not !
