Works in Linux and OpenBSD. dmesg from OpenBSD: ulpt0 at uhub3 port 1 configuration 1 interface 0 "QinHeng Electronics USB2.0-Print" rev 1.10/2.54 addr 5 ulpt0: using bi-directional mode You cat write directly to /dev/ulpt0 on OpenBSD or /dev/usb/lpt0 on Linux. To get CUPS to work, I had to edit the config to use /dev/usb/lpt0 as the devices as it only gave the option of /dev/lpt0 or serial, network, or other things, not /dev/usb/lpt0.

Smaller chuck can't take Dremel tools and QC problems but potentially good value

3/32" chuck is smaller than the Dremel (the whole tool is pretty tiny and the photos doesn't really represent that) so almost all rotary tool accessors do not work with this. May have been unlucky, but the first one I got has mismatched parts on the chuck so it wasn't possible to tighten it. The collet cap didn't engage with the threads in the collet and could be pulled on and off. The replacement's collet was fine and it lit up when plugged in to power, but could not be turned on and did not spin. I was able to make one working tool out of the two and closed the return request, but the lack of QC makes me think that buying one of these, you're very likely to have grief getting a working one. As unenthusiastic as this is, this may well be better tool than the Dremel 7700 cordless tool. I got this as a replacement for that, and this took cost a quarter of the price. The Dremel only took a charge a handful of times then started lasting for about 20 seconds. It's case was cheap plastic and the plastic clips for the battery started refusing to engage. Some other tool brands seem to be making rotary tools in $140 price range that are capable battery powered tools, but aside from quality control problems and chuck size, I'd still buy this over a battery powered Dremel for light work in confined spaces. Many attachments are available and at a good price in the 3/32" size.
