Buyer be ware. Do your homework and be prepared for what you are in for.

If you are interested in Mike’s train house locomotives and all the electrical problems that come with them, it is a nice item in O Scale, however be prepared to spend much money to keep them running.

Atlas 6103 Chesapeake and Ohio F9 Powered Diesel Locomotive

This Item over fourty years old. the plastic if brittle and subject to breaking.

The drive train usually has cracked gears and side frames that have broken off. this item does not travel well and the side ladders are usually broken off. The item must be lubricated properly upon receiving it in shipment. If you are willing to rebuild this F9 and replace the drive gearing it looks pretty good on the rails pulling freight. This item is a labor of love. For the money it can be a moderate performer in O Scale railroading if you want to put up with the constant repairs and replacement of gears that crack. These F9's are fragile old girls but if you are willing to devote a lot of time keeping them rolling, they are worth the pain they give you. The price needs to be kept in check. I wouldn't pay more than $40.00 for this item, you will pay a lot more than that keeping them pulling for you.

Wheels were locked up with old grease, burned up the decoder and sound board trying to fix the problem. Oh Well.
