They are well worth it. But very time consuming.
I was surprised on how much material it uses. I have made many of the 8 inch ones but the 17" was a big difference. I think doing them in one color but from dark to light would make them interesting. I give them as gifts due to the time factor involved in making them. People won't pay for that kind of time.
