a two for one walking around lens
I've had this lens for about 6 weeks now and feel it is a major upgrade from the 55-200mm and the 18-50mm lens i used to carry around...i bought this lens with a little trepidation after reading a couple of reviews in popular photo magazines that stated that the lens was just ordinary at best and for the money not well made,i don't know who the so called experts think the target audience is for this product but i feel this lens is for the serious amatuer not someone who is basing thier livihood on photography...couple of things i like in particular are the auto focus moves internally and the manual focus can be activated by pressing the shutter halfway down also the scale that gives you a point of focus in ft. and meters similar to old film cameras..a couple of draw backs are the weight and the amount of glass both things i imagine can't be helped since you are combining two lenses into one...which will help save your contacts and a repair bill from changing lenses all the time...the cost is a little prohibitive but the sacrifice will be its own reward...with sharp and interesting images taking with this versatile walking around lens.......

its ok for me
i bought this camera used to be used on certain occasions mostly family style gatherings where using my nikon 750 with a 28-300mm lens seems inappropriate for such gatherings....i don't like using the large viewing screen to compose fotos because they get affected by the surrounding light also the flash only works in one of the 4 settings but it has a large sensor and a big zoom....since i didn't pay a lot of money for it if it doesn't work out i will give it to someone..........
