These saddlebag lids w/speakers are an excellent value for the money. They look great and sound awesome.
These saddlebag lids w/speakers are an excellent value for the money. They look great and sound awesome. Just adding the 6x9 speakers makes a huge difference to tone and sound at highway speeds especially for those of us who previously only had stock fairing speakers. The lids fit perfectly with little trouble attaching the latches off the stock lids. The clear coat finish is bright and free of any marks or bubbles. I would suggest installing the weather stripping after the latches are attached to eliminate problems screwing in the backing plate. I used an instant glue that gave me about 30 seconds of adjustment time to get the strip where i wanted it before it was stuck. I would also suggest using stick-on wire ties/guides to keep the speaker wire routed along the lid edge so its out of the way when the lid is open (note - picture shows I hadn't done that yet). Recommend the manufacture mount the speaker in the lid with the speaker connector facing the front of the lid so the wire isn't hanging in the center of the lid when open or consumer can spin them during installation. Having the connector facing the front of the lid would allow easier routing around the lid edge and keeps the speaker wire out of the way when getting stuff in/out of the saddlebags.
