Lighthouse Guillotine Cutter For Stamp Mounts Up To 180 mm, NEW

My first stamp mount cutter.

I tried to research on the subject of stamp mount cutters and didn't find much to discern one brand as better than another. There seems to be about 4 or 5 brands, all essentially the same configuration, and prices range someplace around $22 to $28 (check prices and shipping charges to get totals or you could overpay). So I went with the German-made Lighthouse Cutter; I am now using it and pretty satisfied. There were absolutely no instructions on how to use it so I am still experimenting, cutting up a lot of mount strips and still not sure I am using it correctly. Looks like metal in the pictures but, except for the cutting blade, it is all constructed of plastic. Considering the small job I am asking it to do, it sure takes up a lot of space on my desk. All in all, it is sure a lot better than cutting with scissors

Excellent must-own book for advanced weavers

This is an advanced weaving book not meant for beginners. It is beautifully published (albeit paperback) with full color throughout. I think the price is high considering the book is not that lengthy. I think the high price is commanded due to the unique subject matter. (Some of Bateman's monographs, used, sell for hundreds of dollars and are rare. I recommend the book highly even with the sticker shock.
