Talbot Goes Instrumental
I purchased this CD after picking up Talbot's Wisdom collection. I was assuming that it was a similar set of vocal and guitar pieces, but was surprised to find that it was instead a set of instrumental works. It's a very peaceful and relaxing set, just not what I was expecting. It's nice for background while reading or meditating, just not what I thought I was purchasing.

Still Sweet after all these years

I had enjoyed Cat's music way back in the 70's and was disappointed (but not surprised) when he exited the performing world to pursue his personal salvation. When he retuened to the recording studio recently I had thought about picking up some of his older music, and this seemed a great collection, at least from a distance. This set of musical works is in fact a great sampling of both his best known releases and some of his less popular efforts. His live renditions are studio quality and performed with his usual introspective persona. Compared to recent concert stylings, this is a very subdued concert, but one that is much more personal rather than glitzy. I didn't expect to be so impressed with 30 year old music, but have watched the concert 3 times and still enjoy it as much as the first time. It's good to have Yusuf back in the studio, but he's got a ways to go to match the warmth and human touch of this old stuff.

Great live footage of a solid band
I purchased this concert as a follow-up to the purchase of the first Manassas album. Having seen Stills in the 70's with CSN, it was great to watch him perform with another set of musicians. As mentioned in another review, video quality is a bit low by modern standards, but is easily watchable. Sound quality is good, including all of the exchanges between numbers. Stills' voice is in great form, and he is definitely the featured musician. Short concert, which is the major downside to the DVD. Still worth the money and the 40 or so minutes of your time.
