The American Railroad Passenger Car
This work is a two volume set. Vol. 1 deals with the development of passenger railroad cars. Vol. 2 deals with the various uses of passenger railroad cars as well as their fittings, including but not limited to: brakes, suspension, heating, ventilation, lighting, etc.
The work is quite comprehensive and probably the best single-source reference work available for the industry as a whole - even though it is almost 25 years old. It contains a substantial quantity of pictures and drawings.
I highly recommend the work for the collection of railroad buffs, as well as model railroad enthusiasts.

Highest MERV rating for a 10 x 20 filter required by my furnace.
