Do you only have 1/2 a headset?
If you somehow have an expensive call center headset and now want to use it to make Skype (R) calls from la computadora, go ahead, buy this adapter instead of, using the free earbuds you have and the built in microphone? Well, slight reduction in ambient noise and in the laptop mic picking up the sound of the fan. No, not that expensive and nice to have, you may need to do an important video call interview someday, now you have a headset that will sound great. Maybe it will pay for itself. Niche product. Works. You know if you need/want it or not.

Hardware is there. Und die software?
Great hardware. Linux on Dex software (the reason to buy this is just so-so). Product is good if you want to play a movie or Android game on your flat screen TV.

Loving Life in Retina Land
I never dreamed I would own a computer this nice. Doesn't have a kensington lock slot. Only 2 usb ports. Remember to get lots of dongles like minidisplay to dvi and minidisplay to ethernet. Awesome machine. I think new windows8 machines still come with 4gb RAM for a lot of people so you'll be ahead of the curve with this for at least 2 years and that's long enough at ebay prices. And macs have great resale value if you want to trade up in a couple years. Bet mine lasts 5 years though. Haven't noticed any non-retina applications looking ugly on it, but every other screen does look ugly next to it now. Love it!
