social and cultural historical analysis
This book raises lots of questions surrounding how the poor were able to survive in a city as rich as Paris. It offers the reader an abundance of questions that examine how cultural and social history is used to analyze the poor in Paris. Recommended reading.

Gender Relations in the Middle Ages
This book examined an interesting period of the Middle Ages and focused on the political rise of a young woman through marriage and her separation from marriage into a powerful political fighure in this important city. The author offers lots of information about the city of Narbonne and the circumstances surrounding Ermengard's rise to power. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy reading about the Middle Ages.
