Black Narcissus 2010 DVD
3 personnes sur 3 ont jugé cet avis utile. For any one who loves this film, this is the one to get! Besides extras which include among others the original trailer for the film, a half-hour featurette of how the film was shot with focus on Jack Cardiff, a great commentary track with Michael Pressburg & Martin Scorsese, this copy of the film is fantastic! The colors are rich and vibrant and give a good representation of what Technicolor should have been, or would have been like back in the day when it first came out. Now you might be thinking, "What's the big deal about Technicolor and so, the movie's in color?!" But that is exactly it: COLOR is a big deal for it plays a major part in this film in how it is used thematically and emotionally. And this copy delivers! Now I know we all don't have home movie theatres with a screen as big as the ones at the multi-plex in the neighborhood, but if possible screen this movie on the biggest TV you can find. You will be in for a visual treat! And for those of you who aren't familiar with the movie, it is a one worth watching- a moving, atmospheric piece with revealing, fantastic performances dealing with desire, and longing for life that is either in the past or within the characters' immediate reach. The 2010 Criterion Collection DVD of Black Narcissus is a great addition to one's film library.

DUNE - Read it!!!
DUNE happens to be one the the best Sci-Fi sagas that encompasses all that makes up a society. And as one progresses through the series, it gets better!! As a novice, first timer, it’ll take some time to learn the world that Frank Herbert created but it’s worth it!! The characters and situations stay with you for years to come!! Arrakis… Dune… desert planet… time for you to embark on a great adventure!!!

This is the book to get for those with an interest in this mysterious phenomenon!!
I just assumed it was going to be the paperback edition- the description wasn't clear and I didn't mind. But to my surprise it was a first edition, hardcover book AND it was in pristine condition!!! It was a great find and purchase!!!
