This is the portrayal of the historic struggle for Mexican independence under President Don Benito Juarez against the machinations of the French Empire under Napoleon III and the tragic characters of the ill fated Maximillian and his wife Carlotta. An all star cast with dynamic performances from the like of Betty Davis, Brain Aherne, Paul Muni, Donald Crisp, Claude Rains and John Garfield. A classic and one of Warner Brothers' best movies of that time. Sure to be enjoyed my movie lovers of all generations.
