Unit works but must be used with the correct voltage.
I originally got this product to work in a capacity that it was not designed for and it wouldn't turn on. That's my fault. When used at the proper voltage this unit can be set to work with any Infrared Remote, such as your TV remote. You can now use your TV remote to turn the unit your lamp, toaster oven, whatever appliance that operates at 120 Volts, on and off. Just plug the appliance into the unit, turn on your appliance, and then control the current sent to the appliance through the unit. Get your toast at a distance.
