Excellent Part: As Good as It Gets
This Mainspring Housing was purchased to replace a Plastic Mainspring Housing on a Colt gun. The part I chose had 25 LPI checkering which is about perfect for appearance and a non-slip grip. The diamonds are all well cut, even and sharp with no damage. There are no issues with finish or machining residue anywhere on the part.
The dimensions are slightly oversize in relation to the technical drawings for the pistol, so the part is not quite a "slip-in" fit. It is more of a "Press-in" fit with a bit of friction to hold it in the frame. No filing or sanding or significant force was necessary to install the part.
All the factory pieces and pins fit and line up perfectly.
Although I have not measured it, I believe the MSH is about 0.001 inch oversize in width which accounts for the friction fit and also is about 0.001 to 0.002 inch long at the bottom when compared to my frame. The contours match the edges and bottom of the frame perfectly.
The top of the MSH leaves very little gap with the grip safety which is perfect.

Tiny Light with a Big Cap and Long Tail
What is not obvious from the photographs is that the light is MUCH smaller than It appears. The housing is barely large enough for a regular incandescent bulb. It is not large enough for a CFL or LED.
Some of the parts also have some stamping flash that needs to be filed flat before assembly.

1:700 DKM Bismarck
Mould quality of this 1:700 scale full hull kit of the Bismarck is generally good. The price is pretty fair and the fit of the parts is generally good. In places, the assembly is more complicated than it needs to be for the level of detail in the kit.
