A Work of Cinematic Art.
This is a powerful War Drama that takes place during World War 1, known at the time as The Great War. It is an artistic, cinematic and directorial gem directed by Kubrick.
I limited my rating to 4 stars more due to the depressing nature of the true events that the movie dep8cts, than the quality of the film.

Amazing Background Information
I have been a Beatles fan since their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. I have been following them closely ever since. I saw this book listed the other day, and I was immediately intrigued by the book's cover: it is an alternate pose from their Beatles '65 U.S. album cover.
After buying and receiving it, I only had to randomly read just the introductions to a few of the 50 entries and I knew that I had purchased a gold mine of background information that was not only completely new to me, but was written in a style that just draws you into what was written. It is great! If you are a Beatles fan, do yourself a huge favor and buy this book. I highly recommend it.

A Beautiful Mantle Clock
This is a beautifully made mantle clock. The wood is rich, and matches my mantle perfectly. The hourly Westminster chimes are gentle and unintrusive as they toll on the hour. They just chime as a melodic reminder of the passage of time, and then count the new hour. The clock suspends the chiming feature at 11 PM, and then resumes again the next morning at 7AM.
I especially like that it is a Bulova clock, a name synonymous with fine timepieces. I am quite satisfied with this clock. I can wholeheartedly recommend it to you.
