Decent Product but WAY too Loud for a Home Lab

If this were for a real data center or a business data room it would be fine, for a home lab like mine the volume is ear bleeding. The device does work as expected with the caveat that you must purchase more expensive Dell compatible transceivers so be sure to be ready for the cabling expense. Otherwise the Sonic platform I would not recommend for home lab. In a larger environment with properly trained networking staff and engineers it would work wonderfully, but most home labs it is definitely unneeded (unless that is what you are using it to train on). Whether using Sonic or Dell NOS 9 both yield a volume of a jet engine taking off so do not recommend for a place where that level of noise would be annoying or problematic (like said home lab). All in all though, if it were not for the noise, I would say this device would meet the expectations as a 40 Gbe switch and has expandability to 100 Gbe so a good value if you have the ability to deal with the noise and need growth and upgrade capabilities.

Worked well though had issues with the older computer I was trying to use it in, but once I installed in a newer system it worked like a champ. A++++
