Killer Bang for your Buck
Read many reviews, as I usually do for most purchases. I am always looking for the best quality for the best price. The Garmin 500 fits the bill. I read, and now agree, the this unit will do everything and more, that My son needs. He is a HS MTB racer and is primarily using as a too to train. It comes with the HR monitor and speed and cadence sensor. I would recommend, that if you MTB vs road that you might want to purchase Garmin's new speed and cadence sensor kit. The speed sensor straps to the hub and the cadence sensor, unlike the one that come with the unit, doesn't use a magnet and straps right to the crank arm. The speed and cadence sensors that come with the Garmin 500, I have read, have more issues based on how they are mounted. I actually bought the new kit for under $60 and sold the speed and cadence sensors from the Garmin 500 for in eBay for $45. Much prefer the separately purchased kit.
You will like this unit for the price. Found mine for $210.
Ride on!
