Strong ESC with nice programming options for the price
I bought this ESC to replace the factory ESC in my Arrma Senton BLX 3S short course truck.
It has run flawlessly and has been a massive improvement.
Some things to note
You need the hobbywing program box in order to access the features on this ESC. That is an extra $30 cost. It sucks to have to buy it separately but I am happy to say that the program box is not a gimmick and can be used to check the voltages on your lipo batteries, along with being able to program other hobbywing ESC’s
Factory default settings are that it only has forward and breaks, so it’s basically set up for a race track, you need the program box in order to get the reverse option enabled on this ESC. There are many options that are also very useful that you will not be able to access without the box
You have to solder the motor wires and the battery leads onto this ESC, so it is not a plug and play right out of the box. This is common, but just know you need a soldering iron and soldering skills
I am extremely happy with the purchase and the performance of this ESC and have no problem recommending it wholeheartedly. The only reason for four stars is because of the additional cost of the program box and that it is not plug and play, which will be prohibitive for some people.
