Always replace O2 sensors with OEM
My upstream O2 sensor caused the CIL to come on on my 04 Taco. I had recently replaced the downstream so I chose a non-OEM ($28) again for the upstream. The CIL went out, but the truck ram very lean after warming up. I thought that Upstream O2 sensor was bad, so I had it replaced. Same thing. It was just not compatible. I replaced it with the OEM Denso and the truck runs like new. $43 was a great price and worth it.

Was not exactly like the original Tacoma O2 sensor, but worked perfectly. Had to unscrew the sensor from the flange and screw in from the other side because the radius interfered with the exhaust hole. No big deal.
