Poor finish. Hard starts and skipping.
This yellow 159’s yellow lacquer finish is mottled and uneven. When writing I often experience hard starts and skipping. Overall, it’s a mess, and I don’t recommend it.

Beautiful light shade of green but too light for readability
A beautiful shade of light yellow-green that works better in ink drawings than in writing, where it’s quite difficult to read, even on the whitest of papers. Using an oblique medium wet nib for Uncial calligraphy, I did experience some inconsistency in the flow. It’s possible it’s the fault of the exotic nib, but most other inks have not presented problems in the same nib. The ink itself is on the dry side. With a wide wet nib I did get some nice shading. In short, beautiful color but too light of a shade for writing.

Unique soft fine gold nib
The nib is the standout with this pen, being soft with some bounce. With normal pressure while writing, you get a precise line with great control. There is some feedback. If you're light handed the nib is reasonably smooth. With a moderate amount of pressure, the beautiful gold tines separate and give great line width variation. With practice and technique, my writing has become much more artsy. I receive lots of compliments. The body is highly polished resin, nothing more, and the pen has a classic look. Another bonus is one of the best clips ever placed on a pen. A joy to use.
