Cord Cutting

Purchased several of these, mainly because the Premier Plus has a remote that can control the TV power and volume (still use TV remote for sleep timer) . Ditched cable and am using Roku and Sling programming along with an antenna for local stations. Cost of hardware will be recouped in a small amount of time as our Sling billing is $25 per month vs. $80 per month cable billing.

If you have a portable generator for emergencies, you should install one of these.

Eliminates the mess of running multiple extension cords to the items that you need to keep running during a power outage. Also, it will provide power to other items that are hard wired into your house wiring that you cannot connect with an extension core (ie. furnace). The pigtail that goes this transfer switch to your breaker box could be a little longer - I had to extend a couple of the sets of wires to reach the breakers. Planning for where to mount the box and determining which circuits to use, were harder than the actual wiring. Hopefully, we will never have our power out for an extended amount of time and will not need to use this, but if we do, we are prepared.
