Yale lock rocks

I have used multiple versions of the August lock. It wasn’t until I found the Yale lock that used the August module that I thought I had found a quality lock with the benefit of it being smart (keypad, Bluetooth Wi-Fi, keyed, homelink compatible, etc. Though this lock is all branded Yale, the smart part is really rebranded August. I liked the first Yale that I purchased and it has outlasted all the August only locks I purchased in the past. I really like this lock and would recommend it. It is mechanically superior to the August equipment, but uses the August module to provide access via smartphone.

Junk, find anything else.

This product is essentially useless. The connectivity is via telnet, not ssh. Also, even though the mgmt web gui allows you to change the speed it’s is stuck at 9600 baud for serial. Assume that’s a bug in the 10 year old firmware. There also doesn’t appear to be a command line mgmt tool. Cannot use something this insecure with ancient firmware. The only good thing about this is that The PoE works.
