Avatarium move away from the bombastic sound of their previous efforts by managing to retain everything that makes them a good band.
One of the most unappreciated releases of 2019. Very good album that flows effortlessly with good riffs and melodies. On top of that you get a fantastic female lead who manages to elevate the songs to a whole new level. Such an emotional voice. Maybe the band's choice to aim for a more trippy '70s sound on this one will not sit well with some metalheads who would prefer a more heavy/in your face album. But The Fire I Long For is, without a doubt, a step forward for Avatarium. They decided on a more moody and immersive sound and the absolutely nailed it.

A very good album written by excellent musicians.
A high energy, anthemic and well crafted hard rock album by a very talented band. They mix the bombastic sound of the 80's with some really hearty rock song songs and Tremonti has incorporated quite a few heavier/thrashier riffs to please their "strictly-metal" audience. Although seen as a politically charged album by several people, it seems to me that the band just want to express their feelings and views about the current situation and not to make a political statement. If Blackbird and Fortress are their crowning achievements, this album and III are just a step below.

One of the best retro rock bands out there.
Fantastic throwback to the '70s-'80s radio rock/hard rock sound. Heavily influenced by Thin Lizzy's melodies and Led Zeppelin's guitar work with a tinge of Van Halen and Iron Maiden of the early days and imbued with the rock silliness and recklessness of the '80s. Absolutely fan album.
