2 Classic RPGs in a portable format
The first two Dragon Quest (Warrior) games from the NES ported to a black cart GBC format, meaning it plays in color on a GBC/ compatible GBA and will also play on an original black and white GameBoy. There are some improvements over the original NES versions, such as item and gold storage, and weapon and armor shops show stat changes for purchases before they are made. No big changes to the actual gameplay though, but I will say I'm finding a lot less grinding is actually required than I seem to recall.

A great resource on wildlife
1 personnes sur 1 ont jugé cet avis utile. A favorite from my childhood, info on lots of animals, plants and fungi, with excellent artwork. I’m not sure if the info is completely up to date as the book is from the 80s, but for the casual user I’m sure it’s as accurate as you’d need. Using it to take with on my trips to national parks. Noted a zone of wolverines in Southern California. This is an old book. Looked up current info. There is ONE WOLVERINE LEFT in So Cal. So sad. But I learned about it because of this book.

Classic
One of the best games of all time. A master class in creating a compelling and brilliant game with the limitations of the time. Holds up just as well as you remember (if you’re my age) or as well as a golden age Nintendo title should. I’m building an off-the-grid library of classics for an expected period of wilderness time, and this certainly made the short list. Metroid 2 still on the way and I should be good.
