METAL GEAT SOLID: THE TWIN SNAKES, EXCELLENT GAME!
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is an exceptional game. This particular title was made exclusively for the Gamecube. This game is that absolute best graphics wise that you'll see on the Nintendo Gamecube (well this game and Resident Evil 4). This game is produced by Hideo Kojima. Apparently he's some kind of master of the gaming world, or perhaps just at Konami. The start of this game is very cinematic, you'll think you popped in a movie rather than a video game. This is not a bas thing though. The gameplay is great, it has all the staples of the Metal Gear series that you're used to if you've played previous versions. The name of the game once again is stealth, though it's not as demanding as say Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. There are some interesting boss battles and some unique problem solving situations. Also, this game is a rare title for the Gamecube. If you still happen to own this game I'd look up ecactly how much it's worth before deciding to sell it on eBay or your local used video game store. (Gamestop absolutely will screw you over, so avoid them at all costs). This game is fantastic though. Solid Snake even has his cigarettes again...though if you use them your health goes down at an alarmingly quick rate... Everyone knows that snoking is bad for you, but yikes. Anyway, great game, prestine graphics, quite a lovely game, I highly recommend it!

METROID PRIME 2: ECHOES FOR THE NINTENDO GAMECUBE
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes for the Nintendo Gamecube is truly a great game. The control style is exactly the same as the original Metroid Prime so you wont be spening any time learning the new controls. There are a few different beam weapongs you can get in this game, dark and light matter gun, and this gmae also offers the screw attack as originally seen in Super Metroid. There is even something called the annihilator beam! The main difference though is that the game is split into two worlds (light and dark). You have to travel between the two to unlock doors, acquire items and solve puzzles. Basically it's the same idea of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past if you've played that game. One thing overall I'd say about this game compared to the original is that it's a lot harder. The difficulty of the puzzles in general aren't too bad, but being that it's two seperate worlds in one, that makes it harder. Also the bosses are a lot more difficult. When you get to the last leg of this game, the enemies (robots) are quite hard to beat, some of them needing three super missiles to take down, and your timing has to be exact or your shot will do no damage. The graphics on this game are absolutely amazing, you won't be dissapointed on that score. Also, not a Metroid game since Super Metroid for the SNES offers as impressive music which conveys an ambience of being in a creepy situation/environment. You will recognize some of the tunes from the Metroid games of old too, which I find pretty cool. I think any gamer playing this game for the first time, it would be fair to point out one thing also: There is one last thing you must do before going on to the main boss to beat the game, you have to get 12 keys to unlock the last door and they are scattered throughout the entire game and all 12 are in the dark world inside a creature you cannot see without using a special visor. You can look for these creatures on your own but be aware it will take you a long time to do so. This is probably one of the hardest and frustrating elements to this game, after you've gone through so many trials and tribulations to get to that point and now you have to go on a wild treasure hunt. It's not too bad though. Find the ones you can and look up the rest online if you're getting overly frustrated. There also is unlockable content, photo galleries of rough drawings trying to show the development of the game. I honestly find this extra not to hold much water, but that's just me. You can unlock these extras by scanning a certain percentage of scannable objects just like the original, from creatures, to items, and lore. This game also offers a 2 player mode which is actually quite good, if you have a buddy or two or three to duke it out (you all will play as Samus). But yes, another impressive Metroid game from the long standing series from Nintendo. This game is definitely worth your time, just buckle up for a long arduous ride.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is one of the finest video games ever made. It would easily rise to the top of a best of list. As the title implies, it is very similar to the original Legend of Zelda for the NES. If you liked that game, you'll love this one. There is an overworld you must explore, dungeons you must find and beat, supplies to upgrade and many many secrets. The graphics are obviously updated, and in addition to a lot of similar aspects tied to the original, these are also expanded upon. For example, now you can talk to people to obtain information or to get items, or have taskes assigned to you. You have and are able to look at an overworld map for the first time. Where you need to go next will often be labled for you. There are two worlds in this game which mirror each other, light and dark. You'll have to go in between the two to progress in the game or to reach certain items. Also, there are some new cool items in this game like the ice and flame rod, in addition to some powerful new magic attacks. Some of these elements were present in the Game Boy Zelda game, but never before on the big screen. Other added items from the original NES version are the bug catching net, running boots, shovel and the debut of the hook shot! There is also an item in the game whcih creates blocks for you to use in certain ways. Also, this is the first time you were able to swim in water. Just like the original the world is huge. There is a lot to do and a lot of things to keep you busy aside from simply progressing through the game to finsih. What makes this game so good aside from being a Legend of Zelda game which today is a household franchise synonymous with greatness for it's originality and clever gameplay puzzler style is it's replay value. I think many people will find things they missed the first time around, or forget things they achieved the first time around, regardless of if it's your first, second, third or more times of a run through. The sound and music is great as well. It's about what you'd expect from a Legend of Zelda game, grand and epic. Perhaps not the greatest graphics of a game show cased on the SNES though very impressive for its time, and a huge step up from the NES/Gameboy versions. This game is available for download through Nintendo's virtual console as well, so if you're having trouble finding it, or don't want to pay a lot here on eBay, you can go that route. (I happen to be a purest, so I like to have the actual cartridge, though I do own it on the VC as well, I suppose for conveinience). At any rate, this really is one of those must have games for the SNES. I highly recommend it. You absolutely won't be dissapointed, I gaurantee it!
