Buy this with no hesitation!!
1 personnes sur 1 ont jugé cet avis utile. OK, so let's face it...compilation CD's are a dime a dozen. When an artist dies, the label takes the same songs, rehashes them with a new photo of the artist, and viola, another $15 lost buy a hard working consumer.
This was NOT the case with The Essential Waylon Jennings 3.0 limited edition.
Waylon's son, Shooter, had his hands on the creation of this CD. Just like John Carter Cash and his dad Johnny's music collection, Shooter has taken Waylon's career and found a way to provide almost 4 hours of audio love to the fans.
The one trick to buying this package though, is to look for the blue band at the bottom of the artwork: this makes sure you are buying the 3 CD set and not the 2 CD set. I found this buy looking at the CD's for sale, and when I saw something that peeked my interest, I shopped buy the CD title. This got me into this CD. I am glad I did; it was a gift for my father-in-law who loves the Hell out of this!
I would recommend this to anyone with even a passing interest in Waylon Jennings: until you hear the CD's, you don't know how many songs of Waylon's you are already familiar with.

Buy this with no hesitation!!
To have a box set that Johnny himself helped organize beats out other boxed sets out there. It seems that when an artist dies, boxed sets come out of the woodwork. With Johnny Cash, this is very true. Love, God, Murder was released 3 years before his passing, and Cash was able to write and organize this package and make a wonderful keepsake of his music for our enjoyment. The 3 themes were a common thread of his throughout his career. This was just an awesome treat to listen to and I hope you feel the same.

Dr Gonzo while the Gonzo was good...wheres the music?

Johnny Depp had one advantage of Bill Murray as far as the acting ability and portrayal of HST...Depp lived with Hunter for months and learned how to act/talk like him. Murray did it without having to live with Hunter. Universal Pictures never put the time/money into the costuming of the characters to make Murray look like Thompson.
With that being said, I'll still what "Where" over "Fear" any day
