À propos

I used to have an eBay store selling toys many years ago, but now just selling general items. I’ve also sold over 400 items but people rarely leave feedback for some reason. I ve never had ANY shipping issues or negative feedback.

This might not be up there with the classic's of 'Casablanca' or 'Citizen Cane' but it's still a wonderful classic movie that is very family friendly, and great for the kids (if kids today would even give a b&w film the time of day). It's a light hearted comedy that I remember watching on Sunday afternoon television back in the late 70's and one of those films that always stuck in my head. It took way too long to reach home video, but I'm glad it finally did. I'm surprised that movie producers haven't picked up on this one for a remake, but I'm grateful all the same. (They'd probably ruin it by making the cat talk!) If you enjoy classic movies of the 40's and 50's, and you haven't seen it yet, I do highly recommend treating yourself to this one!

Godzilla 3 DVD box set is... ok.
An interesting collection of DVD's put out by Sony. Although only 3 films in this box set, it's thankfully the only one that doesn't contain the Tri-Star abomination. (Unlike the 5 & 7 packs) Unless you're a fan an understand the continuity of the Godzilla series, this collection might not make a lot of sense to some. It has two films from the showa era ('Son of G' - 1967, & 'G vs MechaG' - 1974) then a film from the Millenium era (G: Tokyo SOS - 2003) which is a sequel to "G Against MeachaG" from the year before (but not included in this set). I won't go into a full description of how these film era's work and why it can get so confusing. However, the DVD's themselves are descent releases. There's no bells & whistles to this set (with the exception of some behind-the-scenes footage for Tokyo SOS). But they are at least presented in wide screen, and give the option of hearing english dubbed, or Japanese with sub-titles. The credits are left in tact, and even translated. The image quality probably isn't 100% superb, however, it's still sharp and clear, even played on my less than average DVD player. Although not as thorough as the Classic Media releases, this is certainly an improvement over the butchered Heisei series Sony released 10 years ago. Oh how I'd love to see them re-released properly. My only biggest complaint is Sony pasting the english opening title for 'Tokyo SOS' over top of the fantastic Japanese graphic. You actually can't read anything it looks so muddled. But, that's a minor point. This is otherwise a nice set. The box is nice, the DVD covers look great and the disks themselves even have a nice image printed right on them. If you're trying to complete a collection, these are great fillers for the DVD shelf! Well recommended for a North American release!

Moxy Fruvous: Live Noise
I had the wonderful pleasure of seeing MF live on stage many times in Toronto. I cherish those experiences, as I doubt they will probably ever perform live together again, which is a real shame. They were very unique on stage. If you have ever seen the group perform live, then you'll appreciate the moments of banter between the songs on this CD, but unfortunately, they're only short snippets. Someone who hasn't seen them live probably wouldn't 'get it'. But having seen them myself, I can appreciate the humour, and can sort of... 'fill in' the rest of what's going on. This album has really unique takes on their songs that have been heard on previous albums, and if you're familiar with the songs, you'll appreciate them performed slightly differently in a live setting... sometimes getting the audience involved. Some of the songs are 'performed' as opposed to just being 'sung', and what's a shame is that the visual energy of that performance is lost in just an audio format (King of Spain being the obvious example). For someone who was (and in my case, still is) a big fan of Moxy Fruvous, and who had the pleasure of seeing them live, will really appreciate this album. If you've never seen what they are like live, then the banter between the songs might fall a bit flat. But you'll still appreciate the music. I bought this album when it first came out 10 years ago, and had loaned it to a friend of mine. He accidentally broke it (lol) but it's been such a 'must have item' for my collection that I had to replace it right away.
