The dedicated upscaling chip seems to to do a good job. Even noticeably better on DVDs (don't expect magic though).

Old but still good
3 personnes sur 3 ont jugé cet avis utile. I had 2 requirements for a new router:
1) Fast enough to avoid becoming the bottleneck in my home network (my cable modem connection is 300 Mbps so that is the bar it had to beat)
2) Not look ridiculous sitting in the open in my living room
That second criteria ruled out most new routers except for the expensive mesh ones. I didn't need the mesh features since my space is pretty small but most of the mesh routers still cost $100-150.
This 6th Gen AirPort Extreme was less than half the price of the new alternatives and it met both of my criteria.
My only complaint with Apple wifi routers is that they cannot be configured via a web browser like most other wifi routers.
