Not like my first two
I've owned two Gerber Gator machetes before this one. The reason I bought the second one was because someone stole the first one and my ex-girlfriend took the second. The store where I purchased both no longer carried them. I was happy to have found them on here and for a good price. However, my first two, I chopped tree limbs up to 1 1/2 inches in diameter, vines, brush and basically, anything you could imagine cutting with it. Not one time did I ever bend my blade edge and only sharpened once a year. This one, I bent the blade badly the second time I used it. I chopped only small limbs and small saplings. I never struck rock or metal, only wood. Looks like my first two, says Gerber but, unlike them, the edge bent ridiculously easy for what I was cutting. I simply cannot say it's the same quality metal as my first two. Sorry
