excellent walk around lens for FX Nikon owners

Build quality is not up to pro caliber Nikon lenses but neither is the price. The distortion can be quite obvious but nothing that cannot be fixed in Photoshop in post processing. That being said, this is a very sharp, small, compact, lightweight, fast focusing lens that is an absolute joy as an everyday walk around lens for FX form factor Nikon DSLR's. If you own a DX form factor Nikon the 18-200 VR is a better lens but would be useless for all practical purposes on a D3X, D3 or D700. The 28-200 sure beats constantly changing prime lenses, or using heavier pro lenses with more limited ranges on an FX Nikon unless your subject calls for something specific.

Fantastic camera!

Just an incredible DSLR camera in every respect. Relatively compact size and lightweight. Controls are excellent and articulating screen makes adjustments easy. I bought this as a backup camera to my RP and have been extremely happy with it.

Perfect hood for my lens

I have tried in the past to purchase third party hoods for my Canon lenses but they rarely have the same quality or fit of the genuine Canon lens hoods.
