A good value lens for the bag

I bought this lens with some tepidation. After 37 years of using Nikon kit I was concerned over using a lens with a "plastic" bayonet. However, all seems OK so far. The image is pretty sharp and it works as it should. The focus ring seems very light - but I guess it has to be to avoid putting load on the autofocus mechanism. A lens like this would have cost more in relative terms back in the 70s -that's for sure! Let's see how it stands up.

Great stuff - but use with caution

This is brilliant line - as the other reviewers say, however a word of caution: I bought this because I was fed up of my existing line breaking so frequently. I knew that this line would be too large diameter to fit my cutting head and drilled out the ferrules to accept it. All worked ok but my strimmer struggled to turn it at as high an RPM as it did with the lighter line - this compromised cutting performance a bit. The engine clutch also got fairly hot. I realise this is my fault for expecting my strimmer to deal with such an upgrade in line weight. Fortunately I have a larger strimmer I can use it in.
