A Decent RAMPS Board for the Money
I recommend this board for anyone who needs an 8-bit, cartesian 3D printer, controller, whether for a newer build or to replace a damaged one.
Zyltech's kit comes complete, where all you need to do is attach the microstepping jumpers to the RAMPS board, affix the heat sinks on the A4988 stepper motor drivers, program the Arduino with Marlin, and hook up your existing wiring. No soldering required.
The quality itself is decent. I have many of these units in operation, with external MOSFETs for the heated beds, and have had no failures or operational issues. Print quality is as it always is with an 8-bit setup: Excellent on Cartesian printers.
Consider a 32-bit board if you are running a delta 3D printer such as a Kossel. These are much more computationally capable, and are able to run deltas at full speed with no quality issues. The RAMPS can do the job, but your print speeds will be more limited.
A word of warning, especially if you are new, or are replacing a damaged RAMPS board:
RAMPS boards are ancient, in the world of 3d printing. They are not designed to handle the current required for a modern heated bed, and the number one cause for RAMPS failures tends to be running too much current through the board to heat the bed. This usually manifests in burned connectors, a blown MOSFET on the RAMPS, or even scorched and lifted traces on the RAMPS shield itself.
Be sure to purchase a "heated bed MOSFET" in addition to this kit in order to ensure your printer will encounter no difficulties once this is installed.

Zyltech Delivers!
The motor came in a cardboard box, surrounded by foam to protect it. Compared to the motors it replaced, it's quiet, it runs cool, and, most importantly, it works accurately and quickly. I'll definitely be purchasing more as I need them.
