    Holds your attention
Hadn't seen this movie in several decades, but it still grabs the viewer's attention and hold it to the end. The DVD arrived on time and in excellent condition. I I am very pleased with every aspect of my purchase.
With Musket and Tomahawk : The Turning Point of the Revolution: The Saratoga Cam

    A good Read
Overall this book is a good narrative account of the wilderness war surrounding the Burgoyne Campaign that ended in defeat at Saratoga. Some of the prose approaches the "purple" level and the author seems to have an obsession with tomahawks, but this is still a book worth adding to any "revolutionary" library.
A Darker Sea : Master Commandant Putnam and the War of 1812 by James L. Haley

    A Good Old Fashioned Yarn
This book, the second in a series about a the early years of the American Navy, is somewhere between C. S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower series and Patrick O' Brian's Aubrey-Maturin series. Mr. Haley's protagonist, Bliven Putnam, like those of the above mentioned series, seems to find himself participating in some of the defining moments of naval history, in this instance, American naval history.. While the novels are not especially complex in character or plotting, the history is solid and the principal character is both likeable and believeable. So if you are looking for "Game of Throne's" character and complexity look elsewhere. if, on the other hand, you are looking for a good old fashioned historical yarn, then I recommend "A Darker Sea" and its predecessor "The shores of Tripoli."
