it does the job

very enjoyable
It's difficult for me to place this in a specific category of music. There are some jazz flourishes, but mainly it's moody, soothing and folksy. The arrangements are simple and adequate. Mr. Lamontagne is a good singer/songwriter and the CD itself has excellent sonics.
Put your headphones on and enjoy!

Dreamboat Annie is a dream
I had purchased the original Capitol Records CD pressing back in the 80s and the CD insert was lame. Basically, a track listing, that's it. The artwork colors were awful and there were a few dropouts of the sound on the recording. This anniversary edition is far superior. The sound is great, and the insert is actually a small booklet with photos, lyrics to all the songs, and recording notes such as who sang or played what instrument, etc. Also, the cover photo color is way better than the original issue's artwork. If you like this album, snatch the anniversary edition CD while you can.
