    Castlevania is awesome!
What can be said about Castlevania that's not already known? It's one of the best games in the NES library! The side-scrolling action, good controls, awesome music, and challenging bosses make this game one of Konami's crowning achievements...not to mention one of my favorite games. Castlevania 3 is the closest comparison to this one as far as gameplay goes, since Simon's Quest was a bit of a departure from the original formula. All 3 Castlevania games for the NES are excellent, in my opinion, but it's hard to beat the original Castlevania-it's a classic!

Super Mario Bros. 2 is just as fun today as it was way back when!
Even though this game is a little different than the other Mario games and is often looked at as the "black sheep" of the series, I think it's just as fun as many other games from the NES library. It has the same basic gameplay as the other Mario games, except you can now pick up objects and enemies to throw around. There are no Koopas or Goombas in the game, but you still get to face off against classic enemies such as Birdo and Wart. Good stuff!

Cool game! Brings back the memories!
Slalom is one of the old school, "black box" Nintendo games. The game is made up of three different mountains, each with around 8 or so tracks. The purpose of the game is to ski down each of these tracks while dodging trees, snowmen, sledders, and other skiers. Not only do you have to steer clear of all these obstacles, but you have to beat a timer to the bottom of the hill, as well. Staying between the flags as you go down the hill will help keep your speed at its maximum level. I basically bought this game out of pure nostalgic value. I played this game over and over as a kid, so it still holds up well to me today. However, looking at it with an unbiased perspective, this game may not appeal to a wide audience. I would compare it to many other "racing" type games of that time (i.e. Ridge Racer, etc.). The gameplay is fun, but can get repetitive pretty quickly. The scenery does change from track to track, but there is very little variety in what you'll see. If you remember playing this game as a kid and liking it, I would recommend picking it back up. It's definitely worth going back down memory lane (or hearing the cool music, if nothing else). If you've never played this game before and are simply curious, I would recommend watching some gameplay videos or checking some other reviews before making a final decision.
