Getting Free by Bert Ghezzi deals with its subject of overcoming sinful habits in a clear straightforward manner. The author, a lay Catholic, does not use even one Latin phrase in explaining how to envision the problem and how to solve it. This is so much more than a self-help book in that it deals with traditional Catholic belief. It asks the question, Do you really believe God will meet your need and give you the grace to overcome your habit or not? Those who believe can then get started on life after healing by making use of the sacraments and expecting a few (or maybe more than a few) sinful slips that God has promised to forgive.
