Simply a superb biography
The best biography I have ever read. The author has obviously done his homework! The content is compelling reading about a man I met once briefly while he was recovering from a heart attack. I did not have a very good impression and obviously the author does not either. The early life of LBJ depicts a man who was obviously a leader from his first steps.

Silly series
I am surprised this series went to two. It is neither mysterious not humorous. The interaction between the two leading characters is flat and just plain silly. The plots are unbelievable, sometimes confusing and rarely engaging.

Simply the best in the series!
Quirke, never an easy man to understand, softens his image in this latest adventure. He and his friend Inspector Hackett, are faced with a seemingly insurmountable obstacle in the form of the Irish Catholic establishment. All the characters are extremely well drawn and very interesting. The plot is intricate and teases the reader into trying to solve it for themselves before the Inspector and Quirke get their answers and solution.
