Wonderful look back to the era of immigrants and their path to assimilate.
When you love historical fiction like I do, you can really appreciate the difficulties that a young deaf girl at the turn of the 20th Century might have to face. Having already read the Red River of the North series, this is a wonderful continuation of life at that time - going from rural North Dakota to the big city of New York, was truly a challenge. Nicely written by Snelling in the continuing Saga of the Norwegians who settled in North Dakota in the 1880's.

Enjoyed this story - a historic focus on the early years of immigrant farmers - especially Norwegian. Well written and kept my interest all the way through.
