2n7000 check out
I only did one test with it. I powered an LED switch. It worked fine. So far I don't see much use for it, but I thought I would do something simple with an FET instead of transistor. I might do something more challenging with it in the future. By using an on off switch attached to the FET I was able to apply power to the Led and light it. I could have also connected the LED through a resistor, voltage and switch circuit and do the same thing. I believe that the FET reacts to a small voltage therefore allowing a higher voltage to control a unit of some kind. The one FET 2N7000 worked. I also did not have to bias it.

I dabble in electronics and I have very broad scientific interests so I don't have the time to focus intensely on one activity. For instance, building an bit computer using 19 breadboards modules is a time consuming project, giving not time for thermodynamics, organic chemistry, chemistry, astronomy etc.

I was quite pleased with the breadboards I received. I did not have time to check all of them but I used one of them extensively and I wired a computer clock into the board and everything worked. I applied a power line into the + and negative terminals of the bread board and wired both hot wires and ground wires together. I then could plug a two pronged power supply wire into either side of the power lines and the voltage would occur completely across the bread board. The clock had two switches. I can separated the power lines from each bread board for convenience in saving space. There is really nothing to evaluate, i.e. unless I apply really sophisticated standards to circuits that deal with various frequencies using capacitors and resistors or whatever. I do not have that sophisticated equipment or experience to evaluate thing at that level. I am quite pleased with the breadboards because they meet my needs.
