A Good Thing

I have never gotten along with my 4th gen. iPad; I just don't like IOS. I bought the Nexus 7 on a whim, and because I got a great price on a factory refurb. The Nexus is a good thing, and I like it a lot; it could easily replace my laptop, and may yet. I will comment that I have yet to find a case or screen protector for it that does justice to the beautiful and sensitive touchscreen.

Great displat, iOS sucks.

The ipad would be great except for one glaring flaw: file system access is very poor. This makes it extremely difficult to get data on and off of the device, and it's nearly impossible to get ipad apps to recognize files once you do get them to transfer. Jailbreaking helped, but only a little. And if you don't have wireless access, you're pretty much at a standstill, no matter what you do. OTOH, the retina display is awesome. I will probably save up for a macbook pro with the retina display, and recycle the ipad.
