Replacement for Suzuki DR-Z400SM OEM foam air filter
I replaced the OEM foam filter with this K & N SU-4000 because the SM400 is a street bike and the foam filter is better for off road use as it filters dust and can be cleaned easily. The OEM foam filter rotted before I replaced it (see photo). Tiny foam bits were sucked through the air box screen into the carburetor which eventually required a replacement carb to be fitted as I could not get it completely cleared free of the rotted foam. The K & N filter can be cleaned and reused and comes with a tube of sealing grease to be applied where the filter meets the air box screen. It fits with no mods necessary.
