Basically works as it should

it's works very simply and it's good value.

Yes! Get the adapter!

it works exactly as you would hope for. the adapter locks well enough into place and works perfect with most M42 lenses. With some old lenses (40's & 50's) I noticed the adapter slightly shifts back and forth, but that has to do with the focusing of the old lens. With lenses that are from the 60's and 70's (and newer) the focus is slightly more smooth and the adapter stays perfectly in place. Overall, I'm very glad I have this adapter!!! I wish I had bought it earlier.

Excellent value for a consistent, durable lens.

the Pentax-A 50 f1.7 is, first of all, a super good value for a very decent lens. I'm using the lens on 35mm B&W film and as far as I can tell, it stays consistently sharp even at the larger apertures. Speaking of apertures, it only has 6 blades, so at smaller apertures the hexagonal bokeh comes into play. Not my favorite thing, but besides that it's an excellent, straight forward lens.
